We're excited to welcome Sherry Rayn Barnett of Mustangs of the West to the Airline artist family!
Based in Los Angeles and raised in New York City, Sherry is the lead guitarist for Mustangs of the West, an all-female Americana and country-rock band whose roots stretch back to the legendary Palomino Club scene in Southern California. Blending country, rock, and rich vocal harmonies, the band has performed throughout the U.S. and Europe, including appearances at SXSW, AmericanaFest, and Denmark's Roskilde Festival.

Originally known as The Mustangs, the group reunited as Mustangs of the West in 2017 and signed with Blue Élan Records. Their 2020 album TIME was produced by Grammy-winning producer Mark Howard, whose credits include Willie Nelson, Neil Young, Lucinda Williams, Emmylou Harris, and U2. The band followed with Sea of Heartbreak and Down at the Palomino in 2023.

Beyond music, Sherry is also an accomplished concert photographer whose work has appeared in Rolling Stone and The New York Times. Her decades behind the camera documenting musicians and live music culminated in the publication of her acclaimed photography book, Eye of the Music, in 2020.

Sherry's connection to Airline was already well established before officially joining our artist family. A longtime Airline player, she owns both an Airline MAP DLX and Airline MAP Baritone. Her Seafoam Green MAP Baritone can be heard on Mustangs of the West's title track, Down at the Palomino.
A melodic player with a love for clean tones, twang, jangle, and just the right amount of grit, Sherry's playing is a natural fit for Airline. We're thrilled to officially welcome her aboard and look forward to hearing where she takes her Airline guitars next.
Be sure to follow Mustangs of the West for new music, upcoming shows, and more.
Welcome aboard, Sherry.
