Airline Guitars ’59 Coronado DLX

The Airline Guitars ’59 Coronado DLX Is Back—Now in Black Sparkle

If you’re drawn to the mid-century curves of the vintage Supro Coronado/Martinique, you already know the vibe: sharp lines, soft edges, and a voice that cuts through a mix. Our Airline ’59 Coronado DLX channels that heritage with modern reliability—and it just arrived in a brand-new Black Sparkle finish.
Also available: Metallic Blue, White, and a White Lefty.

“Same silhouette and snap—now with the reliability of a brand-new guitar.”

A Classic, Reimagined for the Stage

The originals used “Res-O-Glas” shells. We loved the look; we leveled up the build. The Coronado DLX uses a tone-chambered mahogany body for warmth, resonance, and stability, paired with Alnico Hot-10 humbuckers for everything from chimey cleans to garage-rock growl.

A TonePros roller bridge works with the Bigsby for smooth vibrato and solid tuning. Wilkinson (Grover-style) tuners, a zero fret, rubber body binding, bound fingerboard, and pearl block markers keep the deco DNA intact.

How It Feels & Sounds

Players describe the Coronado DLX as snappy on the attack with a warm, singing sustain. The chambered body keeps it lively; the Hot-10s deliver articulate mids that love both vintage amps and modern pedals. Roll the tone back for smoky chords, or kick on a fuzz and let the Bigsby wobble do its thing.

Who It’s For

  • Vintage-vibe seekers who want a dependable daily driver

  • Indie/garage/blues players living between sparkle and snarl

  • Left-handed players looking for something unique and in stock

Why Not Res-O-Glas?

Fiberglass has a distinct sound and look—but it can be sterile, finicky for tuning, and prone to cracking. The Coronado DLX’s chambered mahogany keeps the visual spirit while offering a warmer, more musical response and rock-solid stability over time.
